At the age of 27 in 2011, my highest break was 37. It was at the start of 2011 that I decided I wanted to improve my snooker. Within 2 years I made my first century break in a real frame, and have gone on to make many more centuries, with a high break of a 140 total clearance.
My goal is to inspire and help other players achieve what I have managed to achieve!

Snooker Match v Practice | Why does my snooker suffer?
Hold up, didnt you play outside angle/english or running side? Check side is inside angle/english isnt it
Im guessing this video is sped up slightly? Great break
No. Completely normal speed.
Nice video Steve😊 yes, I never take this shot for granted 😊 Hoping all is well with you Steve!
I got into the habit of raising the butt on these shots because of advice given by John parrot , arguably the best player off a cushion ever ! But tbh I’m very hit and miss with them
Great
I am always happy if I pot two consecutive balls. I don't think about 40 breaks
The coaching session we had is starting to pay off Steve. I’ve changed my pre-shot routine and the way I pick a contact spot for the cue ball and object ball. I can feel a difference, definitely.
Very well played...
Awesome you should get back on the circuit. That table looks quick
Sir. With your skills and technique, you deserve to compete in professional circuit
Great lesson: Angle, speed and tip position.
you made it look so easy :D
In the end basic is king😊
great coaching 👍
You made that look so bloody easy. I need to book another session with you Steve!
I'm always learning how to pass this knowledge on. My paperwork and routine grows day-to-day because I'm adding new ideas and concepts all the time. It's a constant learning curve for me too!
Great detailed video and very informative on break building. Great video Barton snooker
I see you have made some shots with a bit side, however, those shots don't touch any cushion. So I was wondering what the point would be if I make a shot with side on it but doesn't hit the cushion to change its angle?
Sometimes players get used to doing it just because it feels like it helps to flick the ball in a bit. I've done videos about. Maybe the one before this one. I didn't do it as a beginner, but once I was around 70-80 break standard, it was something I started to just naturally do once I had a good base level of potting angle recognition.
@@BartonSnooker thanks very much for your reply. it's very helpful
Why arent you on tour
Wow that's brilliant Steve to be able to do that break whilst explaining at the same time .Well done.
Brother edit is always better and better again
good job Barton sir, I hope the escape angle can be explained in detail in the future.
does all pro aim at standing? to go to the next level , we need to stand to aim? I always aim bending down. I have play snooker for 40 years. I make 20+ break. best 40+. Pls advise should i change my aim to standing? Thank you
Stand to get 90% of the shot line, then when you get down, you'll also do fine tuning to make sure everything looks perfect and you're ready to play the shot.
Why you look like so easy 😂compare with me 😢
good video. I have a question. U teach, U aim while standing. this video show u hardly standing n aim. U walk over in just a sec u bend down n play. R u tell me that u just need a sec to aim? Thanks
Correct. At my level of skill I only require a second (longer when I was learning). Just because I can make it look easy at my level of skill, does not mean IT IS easy. It requires high level, dedicated practice.
@@BartonSnooker Thank you for replaying & fast too like yr snooker .👍
Amazing snooker
Very slick, and very fast too! Would actually love to see you, at least occasionally, do some videos where you challenge yourself - maybe see how fast you can clear up, then go for a 147 etc. Not sure I've seen anyone doing 147 speed challenge attempts on UA-cam. Too time consuming maybe.
Are we going to ignore the switch to lefty on the red?? On and off the cush with side to get on the black 👌🏻👌🏻 Great break vid 👍🏻
Mesmerized! You cleared the whole Table 🙂 I would stand by in saying this is no gimme. It's co-ordinating/mapping yourself the hardest as well as knowing what to apply like screw-stun-run-through. Brilliant shot selection and well taken throughout.
Looks like you are using helping side on most of the shot. Does it make easier to pot balls?
Not really. It's just something players end up doing. I didn't start like this though. I just tried to hit the middle to begin with.
Imaging actually being that good at snooker :O
I early like the white line for the cue ball Great video!
Good
Brilliant. You make it look effortless but to us occasional players this would be a dream come true instead of the usual 12 or 15 breaks. 👍👍
wow, just wow. Amazing.
Love how you play with flow and rhythm, which you don’t see much these days from other players
Good job sir Excellent ❤❤❤❤❤
what is the reason for shrug with the middle finger during the aim process.? A lot of players doing this.
Just happens naturally without thinking about it. I think it's your brain feeling the shot.
One of the best snooker videos I have ever seen. The shot/aim graphics combined with the walk and talk through clearly explain how to think through, approach and execute all the shots. Top notch quality mate. Thank you!
Great coaching video. Have you ever thought about entering Q school or Q tour ?
I don't play a lot anymore. I got heavily into coaching and helping players which is what I do full time now. I'd love to have done it if I started younger, but now really enjoy helping other people improve their own game.
@@BartonSnooker Thanks for your reply. I know I find your videos very helpful so thanks for sharing. All the best
Excellent, you made that look almost effortless
Top notch content as always. Really clear graphics. I think you've set the standard for online snooker coaching.
Headcam for coaching a must thanks 👍
Loved the video from Pakistan❤
Cool ❤
this is brilliant. I wish you do more videos like this with the ghost ball
so much useful informations in your videos for getting better in snooker. the only thing I missed is a own snooker table at my home^^
Looks easy n dooable
hi, how to hold the grip on line of aim? while standing should the grip hand be already on line of aim above the right leg? seems that as i am getting down and my body turns my grip hand goes offline ??? tnx
looks so easy but as a beginner its very difficult to manage one perfekt round.
